Phantom3 Adv 4K - Is it possible to set to home WiFi?

I've had a P3A4k for about 3 years.
I've always used a separate SSID for it but it's a pain that I have to switch wifi on my phone back and forth from home wifi to P3A wifi to do firmware updates, etc.

I've tried to set it to the same Wifi as my home, but without any luck.
Is this possible?

And I also noticed that there may be a maximum character length of the password for the P3A unit.
Does anyone know if this is true?

As when I try to set the P3A to the same wifi as my home, and my home's wifi password is about 16 characters in length, the P3A says 'Invalid Password'. ... how would it know that it's an incorrect password unless it's trying to authenticate to the homes wifi?

This all has me a bit puzzled.
Any ideas or tech tips would be great

You can't connect the Phantom to an internet wifi.
It will only connect to the controller.
