phantom vision fly away!

My belief is that many of the "true" flyaways (not pilot error) can be attributed to the cheap TX/RX failing in some way.

In my flyaway case my Phantom was replaced but even though I supposedly bound my old TX to the new Phantom(red light turned off) I had no control, was unable to calibrate, etc.

After working with DJI Support I sent my replacement Phantom back and they returned it along with a new TX. Everything has worked well since then.

The RX is $13 after all...

I honestly do not know. A guy that was doing beta testing and support for Empire until he had a falling out posted a couple of videos where the Phantom was flying away and going to Manual was able to arrest the flyaway but resulted in a crash. It did not appear that the TX/RX was at fault.

I also think that a problem in the TX/RX would be a much more simple diagnosis and fix for DJI than something with the FC/gps/compass. But again, I really don't know, just the notion I get while reading the reports.

Just turned on the news in time to hear: "Cars that avoid collision are the stars of the Los Angeles auto show" Lol! No longer only available on expensive luxury cars, Subaru's going to put it in all their US vehicles soon, and the technology's been avail in Japan for the past decade.

Maybe we should ask them to help DJI put that in the Phantom's?

"Squirrel!" "Tree!"
