I was flying this weekend and went across the field and got pretty close to the trees, thank god for gps, I rotated but couldn't see wich way the phantom was facing so I walked halhway until I could see. the led's wernt any help from that distance. I want to put a bright light facing forward so I can see it when its pointing towards me. I wonder if one of those laser pointers would work. what do you guys think would work?

I saw on Banggood.com some led front lights for phantom. very inexpensive. Not sure on performance.

There is one red and one white in the pack, you can have them on or flashing. Only flown with them once and had them flashing. Worked OK but it had to pointing right at you before you could see them. Didn`t try it too far away either.
I put them high up on the front legs (vision).
