I have the phantom 3 standard when I set the home point to what ever height do I really have to set it in meters or can I just set in in feet, any advice is helpful.

If you open your General Settings you can select "Imperial" vs. Metric.

Know that 1 meter is just a bit more than 3 feet.

Your question isn't clear but even if you set your display to show feet, when you set your Max Altitude and RTH height, they are in metres.
It's a little glitch that DJI never fixed.
