Phantom 3 Professional Firmware v1.5.0030

You can only update the RC thru the GO app. Does the overall status say normal when everything is fired up like your ready to take off? if so, confirm which firmware is installed. Look on the "about" section in the settings menu. Also, make sure your device has internet connection available
Thanks. You are a great help. Not even managed to get the rotors spinning on this thing yet - has been driving me crazy. I have checked the 'about' in Settings and it says App Version 2.4.2 and RC Version 1.5.70 - Shouldn't it should say 1.5.30?

This is how everything reads after all the updates:

app 2.4.2
fw ac 1.5.30
fw rc 1.5.70

iOS 9.1 on a iPad mini 2

What Olof said is correct (for Apple Users) Looks like you're all updated.

Get out and fly!

Took her out, seemed stable and fine. Chased the dog around and vice-versa and no issues. I have not tried anything like follow me or non GPS flight, but it was solid.

A few questions, since DJI is not easy on instructions...

I like to use "old" app. And also i like to update using a pen, call me old fashioned guy.

If i decide update the bird, can i use a pen?
If i decide NOT update the RC, is that a problem?
If a decide update RC, can i use a PEN, also?

Thank you guys!

After reading so many good reports from members here, and since I also have a Nvidia Shield K1 Tablet on order, I threw in the towel and updated everything including the new ipad mini 2 I had just bought. However, I have not flown the P3P yet but will in a few. My Nexus 7 (2013) simply doesn't have enough processor or ram to display the video 100% The new 2.4.1/2.4.2 app actually consist of 2 apps in one now which seems to absorb some resources. I disabled the 2nd part of the app as a test and had no video reception issues as I do with it in working order.

There is a message box that appears that says to update the controller before the app. I have no idea if or what may happen if not updating each device. I do know I have spent way too much over the past 2 years to see anymore units drop from the sky.

Two parts to the app? Is this on an iOS device? How do you disable the second part? I have video issues and looking for a fix. Thanks.

The Phantom Pro still camera is also supposed to be 16mp now.
But I'm not sure if that only happened for the Phantom 3 Pro' Android firmware.
Anyway, when the next update comes, soon apparently, us Phantom 3 Pro iOS Go App users, will have for video, 4K, 2.7K and 1080p.
How do we know if 16mp stills were instituted already?
Perhaps I can wait until the official new Phantom 3 Pro' iOS firmware is revealed. This information has already been shared with dealers and was told to be coming & will be revealed to the general public very soon. When the update gets released. Don't take my word for it. But, I do look forward to that, if it's true and works well. ;-) in time. . .
If it was a big secret, they wouldn't tell anyone.
I'd love to see the source of this rumour.
I find it difficult to see how they can increase the resolution as this is determined by the sensor.
I suspect that someone is getting confused the 16MP X5 camera for the Inspire Pro.

So it's been a few days.... I've read the whole thread and all looks good with the new update for most people. Is there anyone not liking or having problems with the 1.5 update? I'm ready to do it but with my old system, I like to wait until I know that it's all good... -

It caught my attention when I began investigating why the app was using so much internet resource. I noticed there was a process taking place that wasn't normal to me. I then went to the apps section in Settings and opened the GO app. You should see it listed half way down on android. I can't remember any part of the iSo app.

Anyway, after I disabled it everything with flying in the app worked ok. But the next of using the app I had to login again. I think it might have something to do with skypixel, the dji store, but I'm not 100% sure as I did not look into it that far.

Go app for Android sux, at least for me on my GS6 Edge. Crashes perpetually. I may remove and reinstall to see if it helps. I also run with an ipad mini 2 and it's fine, but the S6 doesn't allow me to run follow me reliably, but I can run it tethered to my phone via wifi. :\

Confused, about what. The fellow has been dealing in DJI since day one.
Owns 12 drone stores and had sold $6,000,000 worth of their products, by himself, starting with the DJI S-1000?

If you can't wait for the firmware to be released, please don't hesitate to PM me, and I will happily provide you his direct phone number. ;-)
It doesn't get any better than that. No need to beat around the wild rose bush.
I gain nothing by making up stories for others to decipher. PM me, ok?

I would guess that "P3X" is for Pro & Advanced, and "P3S" is for the Standard.
Let's request DJI to change their naming conventions for future release to P3P for professional and P3A for Advance :)

@skyzalimit,
Firmware version P3X is for Phantom 3 Pro' and version P3S is Phantom 3 Advanced. The Phantom 3 Standard doesn't share the firmware of its predecessors.

flew it several times yesterday, no signal issue appeared, unlike before even if the p3 is near, the signal is poor....

It because you don`t know how to use Android...
Go to: Applications installed - "Service Google Play" and roolback to factory mode, (desactivate).

Also, important, on "Google Play", on definitions, turn OFF all updates.

Reboot.

Than try now to open app DJI. Fly and be happy.

One, learn to communicate better.
Two, roll WHAT back to "factory mode"?
If you're inferring I need to remove all updates for the play store and leave it stock, I won't.
I also WANT updates to occur, however I select when they happen.
If anyone has a real world solution, let me know. This was fairly useless.
I will have to dig into the logs and see if a report was generated on why the app crashed, but that is more for a developer's forum.
