Phantom 2 vision plus telemetry ontly

Hi All
Can anyone tell me if it is possible to get telemetry only without the gimbal and camera if so how please
the reason i ask is the camera/gimbal do not work
i use an ipad with ios operating system on it (not an android)
i tried one of the following suggestions of the internet
it said remove all cables going to the gimbal and leave the one connected to the wifi module in the drone connected
then connect the other end of this cable to the camera port on the main board and cut the 2 wires near the centre of the main board
i take it that means the 2 nearest the main board?
i did this but still no telemetry feed back
the wifi module is working ok as too is the wifi sender and binding is done
i tried them on another fully working camera p2 vision + all all was ok
any help would be great

This method wont work on IOS, I know this as I did a video showing how to fit a gopro to a P2V+ and couldnt get telemtry when using an Iphone but had no issues with an android device
