PC doesn't recognize when Phantom is plugged in

You did mention of a shell swap. Also check if you installed in backwards (is it possible?).

probably gonna drop by the store and let them check. Hoping that it isn't the USB interface pin connector that went bad.

Because after I crashed the drone into the tree the other time, I went back home to plug it in and the phantom vision assistant could still recognize it.

It is just after i changed the shell and this happened. weird.
 
I had the same issue.

The wires going to the USB connector at the bottom of the remote are extremely fragile.
One of them had broken.
A quick solder job fixed it.

I had done several mods to the remote; I suspect opening / closing it so many times caused it.
