Hi all. I'm looking at replacing the Yaw motor flat cable and trying to find out how difficult it will be to attach the round end to the motor. Has anyone done this repair job or will it be easier to just replace the complete motor and cable? I have read that replacing motor can come with a whole lot of issues in itself. All advice will be highly appreciated.

The yaw motor comes with ribbon cable attached, all 1 piece. Please watch the YouTube video (by Ted) that explains the steps required. The outer casing of the original yaw motor is matched to your drone and must be reused on the new yaw motor assembly before installing. It's not difficult but is required or the camera will not face true forward after install. I've done several, follow the steps and all goes well.

I had to look for DroneTed,.see if he is a member.
There goes my year end bonus! :)👌

Don't know where to look for his video.

I used a different video, this guy is installing the new cable as he takes the old one off. Not too difficult if you have the right tools, small screwdrivers and a plastic spudger or a good fingernail. Hardest part for me was looping the new cable around the shaft, at 10:50, didn't seem perfect as I did it but it works fine.

Wow!!

Use guys are sharing some STUFF. 👍 👍 👌

Hi. Thanks for the link but I was looking for something that explains how to replace the flat cable for the Yaw motor only.

Hi all. Thanks for all the input. I've decided to follow droneteds video instructions and replace the whole motor with old cap. This avoids replacing cable only. I'll pull apart the old, damaged motor to see how cable only can be replaced once I've removed and stripped it.

Hi. Watched the video and it seems replacing the motor will be easier than replacing the cable only. Thank you for input.

@Droneted recently re-flashed my Phantom 2V+ wifi that had been laying around unused for a couple of years and no longer had a video connection. It now works like a charm. I'll be using it to train a new hire. I highly recommend Ted.
