I've been away from drones for awhile. Home sick and dug a P4P that I bought over the summer dirt cheap, to try to sort out. It has a GL300F controller, when I use the DJI go app from my phone the controller keeps changing the app to "Inspire" and switches from P4P. I can't get controller to link to drone either. So...I guess my question is.....Is this the app? Or is this the firmware in the controller? I use to know how to do all of this with the P3P, My memory sucks!!! I cant remember how to wipe the firmware and start over. Can someone point me in a direction? Thanks in advance!

No, I've never flown this one. I bought it over the summer cheap for a project. It's been wrecked, and the previous owner claimed it still worked, but....I never count on those claims. I've never had a P4P and thought it would be a fun winter project. I'm still using P3P's on old apps and devices never updating. So I'm probably at least 6years behind on those maybe more(less restricted). After digging around on the Net I'm learning that I'm wayyyy behind with this stuff. For the P4P I downloaded the DJI go app to my newer phone, connected it to the controller and right from the start it's trying to change to "inspire" no matter how many times I switch it to P4P. My first guess was that maybe the previous owner was trying to update and fouled something up or maybe my App just isn't working with my device? The App will stay in P4P until I switch controller on, then it changes to Inspire.

You know the Phantoms!

I say don't mess with the firmware, that is last thing to try.

When comes to App, software, mobile devices I recommend @msinger site.

Make sure in app that p4p has been selected under " RC" then try link,,, if no luck do hard reset on remote then try linking again....

I can't get to what your showing me. "Remote controller Linking" in blue is my last option on that screen. I don't have the "advanced Settings" in my controller for some reason. I'll try the hard reset. Thank you! I even tried a different connection board, checked connection on the ribon cable. I'm reaching! hahaha Edit... I did find the Advanced settings. I had to agree with my device to hook to "inspire 1" when this device is being used. Once I agreed with it, Advanced settings showed up. And "Phantom 4 Pro" is selected.

Ok, I now have drone linked and camera on screen. For some weird reason, When I plug my phone into the controller a little screen pops up stating something like" Do you want to use this App for inspire 1" I have to click "ok" for the stuff to work. If I try to change the app to "Phantom 4 Pro..." it won't work! Hahaha I just tried a take off with no props and the motors fired up. I also have a "No fly one" warning since i'm less than a mile from an airport. And I have errors, but it was crashed so that's expected! Thanks guys!! I at least have progress now!

Lost here, camera on screen, then you plug your phone in to the controller a little screen pops up. How would the camera be on the screen prior?

Sry, I wrote that a little mixed.... When I hook my phone to the Controller and turn it on. I get a pop up screen that states something like" Do you want this app to hook to inspire 1"(I can get exact wording the next time i try). At that point if I click "ok" then the controller will link to drone and the DJIgo 4 app comes on the phone screen. I will see what the drone camera sees on my phone through the app. If I don't click"ok" on that first pop up screen(on phone) and try to change from "inspire 1" to "Phantom 4 Professional" it will not work. I'm still confused but not even sure the RC connects to drone at that point. At the least I know I'm getting nothing on the phone through the DJIgo 4 App. I have to let it think it's an inspire1 for it all to work together for some odd reason.

I'm down to an "overall status" Calibrating the vision sensors with DJI Assistant on a PC or Mac is recommended. a Calibrate compass and calibrate IMU in red. The shell is broken up pretty bad. As soon as the holidays are over I'll look for a new shell and straighten that out now that I know it works. I usually fly P3P's and they are ready to go, haven't had any problems. I ran into a guy that had this P4P with 5 batteries(only 2 work at the moment) controller, box and extras for $50 over the summer and bought it just because it was a cheap controller for my P3P's if worst case. But...Now that it seems like it will work, i'll get a shell and have a P4P to play around with too!

Yeh good question and point @Starz djigo for inspire.
Good bargain anyways at $ 50 @Joker2415 worth fixing even if gota get couple thjngs
Hope Santa brings me a bargain or I'll chuck some yellow snow at him ha

I’m still thinking you may be using the wrong app. If you see something that mentions an Inspire1, that is probably the GO app.
If you truly have a Phantom 4 Pro, that would use the GO4 app.
What model number is in the battery compartment for the aircraft you are working on???
Model # WM331A ...... The App on my phone is DJI Go 4 In the middle of the Icon it says ," DJI 4.0" I know that it doesn't make sense. If I change the app notice that pops up to P4P it won't work. I have to click "ok" when the pop up window asks if I want to connect to inspire 1. I added a screenshot below. I have to click ok to continue. Ive tried everything that I could think of. If I don't click ok? Nothing will work. That window pops up when I'm connected to the controller and turn it on.
