P3P Repair gone bad

After replacement of the main board and motors, I can't get the GO app to link to the P3P. The RC link works, as I'm getting green LEDs on the remote and drone, but I can't turn on the motors. The gimbal is not installed or connected, but I was able a few months back to connect to the app after the main board swap, and was getting a message about the bad motors. Now all I get is a 'Disconnected' message on the app.

I can't relink the remote through the app either, and can't do any FW update with a thumb drive in the USB port of the remote. Have I got a defective remote?

Just found the problem. I had tried two different USB cables, but the third one was fine. The first two were either bad, or just charging cables.
