Hmm, one question would be, what would the nominal voltage be on the new LiPo chemistry that has a peak charging voltage of 4.35v/cell instead of 4.2v/cell?
These have been showing up in phones since early 2013 (Oppo Find5 had a 4.35v cell, so does Find7 and Sony Xperia Z3) - these cells might have a 3.8v/cell nominal rating instead of 3.7.
At least some people rate the 4.35v cells with a nominal of 3.8 instead of 3.7 -

That might be another reason DJI broke compatibility, if they switched to a new chemistry, they would have had to stick with incompatibility even at 3S.
