P2V Max Range

I use a higher quality and can still get out to 2800' 9 times out of 10.
Switching to the lower quality had no changes other than lower quality.

Well I do know sometimes going lower will get you more range but if that's not your case here maybe it's just your aiming or some noise
going on at times when you can't go out .

So would you recommend a stage 2 mod (pilot side?)

I currently have a re700 with 2 external jacks. Using 5dbi omni antennas and the pvt581 remote unmodified. I can fly out to 22-2800' usually. Then get a message of phantom connection broken.

So I am not sure if further modification to the range extender is needed or the remote now.

The phantom itself performs flawlessly.

Phantom connection broken is when FPV is lost, when you lose TX you get a different message, something like control signal lost RTH initiated

So I have been loosing fpv at the 2200-2800' range.

I have the 2- 5dbi omni directional antennas and get that result .(UFL to rp-sma jacks.

Same with the default panel on the re700.

How can I max the fpv range to meet or exceed the phantom control?

Fit the Itelite DBS panel

Thanks for the tips guys

The 2 omni antennas that I have installed work great.
I tried a flight today while there was little cloud cover & wind compared to the cloudy winter months that I get.

I made it out to 3800' with full high resolution pics

I before had been out flying with alot of interference. Weather and misjudgment of the antennas positions was my issue.

The last firmware update had all the range fixes for the distance and altitude.
