Opportunity to trade up from P3 pro to P4 - is it a good move?

It's not as durable as a hard plastic case, but it should hold up just fine as long as you're not rough with it and/or don't need to check it in as luggage anywhere.
Thanks - don't suppose you have any advice on the best way to transport it? I live part of the year in Madrid, Spain and the U.K. the rest? Are there many issues in taking it on an aero plane, as I'd like to take it with me?
 
Right -- check with your preferred airline of travel for a list of rules regarding Li-Po batteries. Other than the size of the case, I wouldn't think any airlines would have restrictions on traveling with drones. And, if you need to check your case, look into getting a hard case. The foam case that comes with your Phantom will not be durable enough to check in.
 
Thanks, good advice. I thought the issue might be the batteries. I think I might get a couple of batteries to keep in madrid so I don't have to transport them. Then I'm just carrying the drone as carry on :) It will be nice to get some footage in the sunshine :)
 
If you're going to take the foam case on-board, you could put it in something like an Alpha or Lykus backpack to keep it more secure and for easier carrying.
 
I just purchased the P3A 4 days ago and seen bestbut is offering the P4 on sale with a free extra battery I bought one. I'm giving my P3A to my wife and I'm updating my P4 firmware as I type. I haven't flown it yet but I love the look.
 
Although I've had some experience with RC planes I've decided to get into Drone flying. The P series seems to the right way to go, although I previously foolishly fell into the trap of buying a "cheaper" Drone of sorts from Hobby King (a useful site for the planes) but ended up wasting good money after bad and hardly used it. So after doing some proper research decided on the Phantoms. I actually bought the P3 Pro as the store didn't have the Advanced which was my first choice. BUT I then went on holiday before I could set it up and since then realised the P4 might be a better route AND the store are prepared to swap it and I only need to pay the difference in price. I'm 90% convinced it's the right move as (1) I like the look (2) Seems simpler to update the firmware than the 3 (3) It's got the sport mode & (4) has the avoidance facility. However I can't help reading the range and flight times arent what DJI claim and practically the same as the 3 (and maybe even the 3 is better on distance). The general consensus seems to be it's still worth it if you have the budget so I'm going to go for it. As a newbie if anyone has any advice to the contrary I'd be grateful - I won't be back in the UK to swap it over until the end of the month so have time on my hands to get the decision right! here in spain the pro is 1000euros and the 4 is 1500, but the 4 has just been offered on line by a few spanish sites that accept paypal and 6 days delivery for 1080 euros at that price its worth it, even Apple have dropped the price.
I too have 30 days to change my p3p, keep in mint...
 
Yes output power too is 4 times that of non lightbridge, which is why it has a bigger battery, its all here and of course the frequency is 5.75 ghz on non light bridge and 2.4ghz on light bridge ones, power on 4 the output is a bit more 23db
