Not able to take picture while shooting video!!!

Another option that I use, record the video then when I used Windows movie maker I go to the scene I want and take a snapshot from it. It creates a .png file. I then bring that into Windows Paint and then save as a xxx.jpg file. Done deal! I know it's two steps but can get that picture from the video.

I shoot video all the time , but I use VLC media player to view video, there is a function under the video tab to take a snapshot of the frame you want, this works great for me . worth a try. I think this will solve your issue. just play and pause the video until you find the frame in the video you like.

I think this is much needed feature. We fly and record video through the whole flight, but there are times during flight when we want high quality stills. You have to stop recording to capture the image. Would be awesome to be able to record and just snap a still when needed. Other cameras do this!
