Phantom Vision 2+
All latest firmware.

We had a tree incident a while back and purchased a gimbal/camera replacement. This went fine. The quadcopter worked for a while and then started having the 'black screen' issue.

So we ordered up a replacement WiFi module and upon receiving it, replaced the module. The black screen issue has been fixed! However, now I have a new set of problems.

In the DJI Vision app, the battery is now stuck at 0% (even when the battery is at full charge), and the compass statistics (Distance, Altitidue, Speed) are all showing as N/A. Plugging the main board directly into my computer via the Phantom Assistant shows that the compass and battery are functioning and they do report the proper information via the direct plugin method. It's just over the app that the data is not being reported. I've also just recently noticed that I cannot control the camera tilt through the app either.

I put the old WiFi module back in just to see if the new one was the problem, and I have the same issue on both the old and new WiFi modules.

I'm at a loss. We've put $800 into this thing to get it back up and running and now this issue... It's like it doesn't want to be fixed.

Any advice on how to proceed to try and fix this issue would be greatly appreciated.

my first guess would be to double/triple check the cables going from the gimball to the phantom, especially
the 4 wire cable. after my tree incident i lost some telemetry to the app and after replacing that cable
i have been fine every since.

I'm glad you mentioned that cable because after the tree incident it literally fell apart. The connector is intact, but all the wires were pulled from it. I shoved them back in but it hasn't appeared to be 'the same' since the accident.

I will pull apart the gimbal and re-do the connections there. Where did you find a replacement for that cable?

yea, that particular connector locks into place and when pulled on breaks apart. i ordered an
entire cable replacement kit and ended up with a whole bunch of spare cables. The 4 wire
cable is initially part of the large ribbon of grey wires going up into the phantom but separates easily
so you don't have to replace the whole cable. but, it is no easy task, wasn't for me at least. i had
my son help, better eyes and extra fingers, but it's tricky where the wires clamp to the phantom
at the usb port...............

I re-seated those wires in the connector and made sure they were solidly plugged in and it fixed the telemetry issue! Thanks for the heads up. I will probably throw some hot glue onto that connector for now and if it becomes an issue down the road again, I will look into replacing those cables.

Thanks again!

glad you got it figured out, and at least you have a project to add to
your list for next time you open her up

Have seen the cable several times on eBay if you end up needing it.

*** WARNING THIS IS NOT THE CABLE PACK. THIS IS A SUGGESTION.

If you are good at soldering, just cut and shut and extend the cables. Makes it easy to unclip and gives some slack in crash. Just take note which cable is which before cutting the original.

Also, hidden in this pack is the 15cm Zenmuse Cable which helps you with the Hybrid Gopro Conversion if you ever decide to fly that way...
