New to the drone family. Have a mavic pro. Working thru the introductory phase. Been thru 8 - 9 battery cycles getting the feel.. Got a "mag interference " warning. Also an alert saying I need to recalibrate my compass.

Following the compass calibration instructions should take care of that issue. Moving to a different location may take care of the mag interference issue if it's something in the immediate area that is causing it.

DJI's warning is badly worded.
The most likely explanation for your magnetic interference warning is that you placed the drone too close to something steel.
Recalibrating the compass will never "fix" that.
The solution is to move the drone away from the cause of the problem.
