Hey guys, I am a happy new owner the p4p. This is my first ever dji product but have been flying rc helis and drones for about 10 years. I got the Thyphoon H last summer and now the p4p.

It looks and feels really nice. Will most likely have to wait about a week before I have time to fly it for the first time.

But I would need some help with one thing.
I would like to use my Honor 8 phone with the drone but I just can't get it to work. It will not connect to the drone. My wife has the same phone and it does the same. Anybody know why? All my other devices work fine, even my Honor 6 phone.

Another question I have is the app and settings! From where does the drone take its settings? For example lets say I have a phone connected an I set the setting to 4k video. I then disconnect that device and connect my pad. Will it show the video setting set to 4k or will the drone take the last setting I had on the pad. Does this make sense!? Lol.

Well anyway thanks for your help and I bet I will soon have more questions for you.

Welcome to Phantom Pilots! :)

From where does the drone take its settings?
Most of the settings are stored on the Phantom. A few settings are stored on the batteries and on the mobile device where DJI GO is installed. Any settings that do not stay set when switching mobile devices will need to be set on each mobile device. It would be best to double-check your settings whenever using a new mobile device for the first time.

Thank you and thanks for your answer! Still can't figure out why I can't get my Honor 8 to work.

Here is another question for you ;)

If I take a picture and then look at the picture in the go 4 app I have the option to delete it or download it. Is this picture on the drone and I can then download it from there? Is this the same quality as on the sd card in the drone? And is it the same for video?

Regarding your Honor 8, what rom is it using? Stock, LineageOS? Mostly this issues happens due to lack of memory, because the Stock rom is usually heavily loaded with tons of bloatware.
In case you really want to use your Honor 8, alongside with your P4P, I would recommend to try a light rom such as former CyanogemMod (lineageOS) for your device, or even root your device, pick a quick guide in XDA Developers and start to cleanup the bloatware by yourself in order to get more free ram/cache memory. By themselves, DJI Android team is doing a terrible work with their app, probably also due to the huge variety of Android devices with different hardware specs, Android versions and so on.
My best shot would be to try a different rom as I said before. Hope you get lucky on this ;)

The strange thing is that all my "older" android devices work fine.
Samsung galaxy S5
Honor 6
Samsung galaxy tab 4
Acer iconia

The Honor 8 connects to the remote fine but it gets no data from it. No picture or telematri.

Lol okay so I got my Honor 8 to work with my p4p. Here is how.

Connected phone to remote.
Turned remote on, and the app starts.
Turned on p4p
The app did not see my p4p. Turned app off and on again. And now it works but this is the only way I got it to work, any other order and it won't.

Just had my first (2 minute) fligt before it started raining. I can't believe how steady it is in the air. Wow!!
