Mount iOSD mini internally, or too much heat?

Hi all, I was planning to install an iOSD mini inside the P2, but I've been warned they get hot. For those who've mounted them inside the body, have you had any issues with it?

dptcalvin and Jason, any channce you can upload a pic of the location to the board over the weekend? I'm going to be installing my iOSD and FPV system next week when it arrives and i want to have as much inside the shrell as possible. if I can do that then i have room outside for my Trackimo device which i dearly want to have on the P2.

As you can see the mini iOSD is mounted on the mother board and can-bus is taped on top. Just make sure to update iOSD before closing it up. All the wiring connections were soldered.

yea mounting the iOSD Mini internally is no issue at all, plus it makes for a much cleaner external look. heat isn't an issue.

What Spudboy is probably referring to is that heat IS (theoretically) an issue if you mount your video transmitter internally... the FPV TX is what gets hot. There's plenty of guys around this forum with internal Tx mounts but imo that's just so complicated... drilling holes, extending antennas... mounting the Tx on the bottom is easier. just make sure if you do a rear-mount (antenna facing out the back) to offset it to one side so that you can still get to the battery release clips. if you mount the vTx directly in the middle the antenna can make it hard to get to the bottom battery clip
