I found a very close up picture of the controller on DJI's site and it does have a dial on the right hand side at least. There is likely a dial on the other side as well. These would be for camera control if they are similar to other DJI remotes.
Tried it and it has the same scroll wheel on the left and right as you get with the phantom and inspire (tilt control on the left and exposure on the right)

A note in the techradar preview said you can also rotate the camera to take "portrait" style shots or for architecture. Not seen this mentioned anywhere else though.

Its usefull for livestreaming to platform using a phone vertically
But i fear the target market for the mavic is just not professional enough in term of image quality
