No wifi connection since 6/19/25 DJI new rebind policy

As you can guess by the title I haven't been able to see my P2V on my cell phone Wi-Fi list and therefore can't connect to the drone. I was able to see it and connect to it before the new DJI rebind policy. I just had a problem with not being able to view the camera even though the camera power lite was on.
Is anyone else having problems seeing their bird in wifi list and connection to it? Did you solve the problem, of yes, how did you solve it?
After 9 months of tracking down and finally finding the files I needed to download and DJI COMES UP WITH THIS CRAP ABOUT HAVING THE FORMER OWNER UNBIND IT FROM THEIR ACCOUNT AND THEN YOU CAN BIND IT YOURS before you can fly again. Phantoms are not on the list that requires the rebind but mine hasn't been connecting since the policy started.

Linking the DJI Phantom 2:

1. 1. Power on the Phantom 2:
   Turn on the drone's power. You'll notice a small red light blinking in a hole on the aircraft.
   
   
2. 2. Power on the Remote Controller:
   Turn on the remote controller for the Phantom 2.
   
   
3. 3. Initiate Linking
   Locate the small button on the Phantom 2 and press it with a tool, like a pen, until the light inside the hole starts blinking.
   
   
4. 4. Release and Observe:
   Once the light begins to blink, release the button. The light on the Phantom 2 should turn green, indicating that the linking is complete.
   
   
5. 5. Confirm Connection:
   The remote controller should also indicate a successful connection.

Additional Notes:

• The DJI Vision app is often used for pairing and connecting the Phantom 2 Vision and Vision+ models.
  
  
• If you are having trouble linking, ensure the remote controller is compatible with the drone and that you are following the correct procedure for your specific Phantom 2 model.
  
  
• Some users have reported issues with linking on newer Android devices (7.0 and above) and might need to use an older device to complete the initial linking process.

Thanks for the reply. I do have the Phantom 2 Vision, the the Plus, just Vision.
I know about the early Android versions too. I connected my moto g 2023 and it connected to the drone but I got a msg saying the software was made for the earlier Android version.
I'm looking fora Samsung s6, someone one here said they have one and it works great with his P2V. My sister gave me her old iPhone6 with iOS12 I'm trying to get that to work. That's what the manual says works too.
I've been wondering about the remote being compatible with the drone although it did make the drone fly.
Do you know how to get the iPhone6 to pick up the wifi signal from the drone?

This occurs when the binding has failed, to get round this reset the extender by pressing in the reset button for 8 seconds, you need the system light to be out to do this, if its on or flashing it wont reset it MUST be off.

Once reset then do the normal binding process, you will need an older android phone upto the 6 ( although these can be problematic) 4 or 5 is best.

to rebind you need the mac addy of the wifi module sadly as yours is the vision unless its shown on the camera you will need to use an app such as INSSIDER (pc only) or IOS search Airport scanner to locate the mac addy, they all start with 60-60

As a sidenote the vision system is 2.4ghz, not all phones have a wifi that uses this band, newer phones tend to be only 5.8ghz

Not sure what you mean about the rebind policy these old units didnt have a binding to account type system

Thanks for the reply captainmilehigh. I don't see 'Phantom_1xxxxx' in my wifi list. It was there and I connected to it last time I just couldn't view the camera because my Android OS is 12, to new. I just ordered a Galaxy S4, that should make everything work...I hope! LOL

Yes you need the RE700 or500

Distance as in how far before video feed cuts out, around 1500ft before video loss with the RE700 a lot less with the 500,

you need the extender to get video feed you can still fly without it but wont get video feed to the phone

the 4 is fine but the 5 is better
