Big Dog, Can you be more specific on what you are talking about? I'm asuming you are talking about the smalll triangular "arrow" that is depicted in the window in the lower left portion of the screen.

Yes that's what I'm talking about . It's not all the way accurate. It points off by a inch is that normal

calibrate compass in your phone/tablet

No, being off like that is not normal. As another poster has stated, do a compass calibration from within the app that is on your phone (or whatever display unit you are using). That should align your drone's system with that in your display unit.

Calibrate in my phone. I do before I fly I hold out aircraft and turn in a 360 degree turn , then point down and do a 360 degree turn

They are suggesting that you calibrate the compass in your mobile device itself. That's different than calibrating the compass in your P3 as you are describing here.
