I looked for it on the news station's site but it was a month or so ago and I couldn't find it. It was purely a human interest story about a group of high school kids taking an outward bound style hike in national forest. Definitely not a rescue or other emergency situation, just a reporter getting a great shot regardless of legal prohibitions IMO.

I can't tell you how many times we've ran into this "on scene" with a reporter claiming the 1st amendment gives them the right to do whatever they "need to" to report the news. That's not how this works LOL.
