And NO gimbal protector in existence is going to help or make a difference in a high impact crash that causes the redesigned gimbal to "pop" out. Aside from the fact that ribbon cables can be purchased for $30, so why spend $20-$50 to save $30 in parts, when you are still going to have to have the ribbon cable taken out and put back to make repairs. Look through the forums, you will almost never see a crash that resulted in a disconnected motor and hub, and in the rare instance that it does happen, no gimbal guard, or anything else is going to make a difference. This is a lightweight gimbal/camera assembly, not a sherman tank.
Also, the new press fit design is metal to metal so the motor shaft cannot rotate inside the hub, which is what caused the horizon alignment problem. That is not the cause of the P3 horizon problem as far as I know.
Gimbal protectors or inertia guards as they are sometimes called are a waste of money on a P2V+ V3 and P3, and basically nothing more than a placebo to make the buyer think he has extra protection. They are also promoted by the guys who make them and with loads of misinformation to make the buyer think he "has to have" one.
Not to be confused with the protectors that are underneath the gimbal/camera. The ones that span the landing gear are a good idea IMHO, and can actually prevent damage.
