Hello. My name is Michal. I am very new to this forum, althrough I passed all 366 pages on Standard forum. Reading and learning... I have P3S..It is my first drone. I purchased it as not working-no GPS, weak control signal reception. It was 50 Eur including backpack, 2 batteries(25 cycles each), aluminium tablet/phone mount, charger and 4 spare propellers.

I have some electrical skills(15 years of work), so I managed it be working. GPS module had crack on antenna, so I replaced it by something similar and GPS started to work(11 sattelites)
Then to the range. I am from Slovakia, so CE mode. It was about 40-60 meters, so I took apart remote and found torn cable to antenna. It was way too short to allow bending of antenna. After replacing cable with SMA connector, I was unhappy with range. It was only about 400 meters at maximum in free area.

I purchased another pigtails with SMA and some cheap 2.4G and 5.8G antennas. Changed wifi power by magic power to maximum possible, but control range was still only about 600meters. Wifi is OK now.

I made 5 turn helical antenna from thingiverse and slightly changed it, so I can screw it on transmitter while I can still change angle and position.

Now I have range of about 1.5km without any glitches. Currently I am waiting for Alfa antennas and Sunhans 5.8G amplifier(one guy sold it for 12Eur)

I do not like to watch on phone or tablet in sunny days, so I managed to DJI go APP to be working on Oculus GO headset, so now It is really nice to have huge live stream while flying further.

Yesterday my 7 years old daughter asked me to fly, so I let her..she flew about 800m away, back and forth plus some circles. She really liked it(depleted whole battery to 30%)

I like this drone, even when it is big(not like mavic 2 I had for repair and let it fly for another 2 weeks)

Attached are some pics of drone and young flyer...

Awesome choice the phantom 3 standard has held its weight in the ring for the last 5 years in my opinion it's better than any of the mavics I dont like small drones as i fly in windy weather.
