Seems like a few times per year someone posts with a similar issue. I don’t know if a root cause has been definitively determined. Often a ribbon cable, sensor, or overheating are mentioned, but most suspect a ribbon cable.
Hi I have just come to use my P4 after a couple of months and find that I have white spots, like noise, over all of my images. Have checked that the lens is clean so its not dust or anything on the lens. Can some kind person point me in the right direction please? Thanks
I am challenged by this issue often and have resolved it with a ribbon cable replacement. For some reason, ribbon cables degrade over time. Must be a combination of sun, heat, moisture, all of which can negatively effect the ribbon material.
Changing the ribbon cable for the first time seems scary. After that, it's quite simple. Been there, done that. Good to know how and you will learn the operation of the gimble components. Saves a lot in repairs, too.
Not for everyone. Proper tools and mechanical Common Sense required.
