Hi all,
I've read a post where we can install Litchi (APK) on to a 4 Plus controller. I have the "platform-tools" folder with extracted files, however I cannot seem to find a process of getting Litchi (APK) in to the folder to push to the controller.
Is Litchi available for download other than the apple/google store? They both want to install the app in a device.

Thanks..

Interesting. Any way to hook the controller to a computer and open the files? DJI had to get the GO app on there somehow. Or maybe put the APK on a SD and load off the SD? The controller is an android based system so I'm sure there is a way.

More details on that process can be found here. While it's possible to install some other apps, Litchi cannot be installed like that.
Lucky I don’t have the issue then- I haven’t tried it and thankfully won’t have to, despite an earlier preference for android devices I’d rather be flying than fiddling.

No worries. I just wanted to provide some more info so we don't lead the OP on a wild goose chase. There is no way to install Litchi on the P4P+ remote controller.

So why is it that Litchi cannot be installed?
Litchi needs to be installed from the Google Play Store and that cannot be installed on the P4P+ remote controller.

possible to download google play store on the controller like the other apps?
People have tried and found it's not possible (see my link above). The APK is too large.

The above steps definitely work. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like any DJI GO alternatives can be used. I installed Litchi and it fails to run.

Here are the exact steps I followed:

1) Download the Android SDK Platform-Tools from here and unzip the contents into "C:\ADB".

2) Get the APK file for the app you'd like to install. If you don't have the APK file, install Apk Extractor on your Android device to get it or download the APK from uptodown.

3) Move the APK file into the "C:\ADB" folder.

4) Press the Windows+R keys to open the Windows Run window, enter "cmd", and press the "OK" button to open a Windows command prompt window.

5) Enter "C:\ADB\adb install -r Litchi.apk" (without the quotes) in the command prompt window (don't press enter to run the command).

Note: Replace "Litchi.apk" above with the name of the APK file you copied in step #3 above.

6) Turn off the remote controller if it's powered on.

7) Connect the remote controller to your computer via a micro USB cable.

8) Power on the remote controller and press enter in the command prompt window as soon as you hear the remote controller connect to your computer (turn up your computer speakers). The remote controller should connect shortly after the DJI logo displays on the remote controller screen.

Note: If the APK is too large or you wait too long to start the install, you'll see the following message displayed:

Failure [INSTALL_FAILED_INSUFFICENT_STORAGE]

Note: If all works as expected, the command prompt window should show the APK being pushed to the remote controller and end with a "Success" message after the APK has been installed.

9) Click the gear icon at the top, left of the remote controller display and choose "All Applications" to view a list of your installed apps.

@pbxcomm, check out the OP's post above. He wants to install Litchi. You're quoting my steps saying Litchi cannot be properly installed using that method.

So maybe its just me in the midst of finishing my coffee.. Would this be possible with the 4P4+? I was able to execute the command line (located the RC plugged I to the USB) but is stated that the .APK was the incorrect version or unrecognized. I assume if I had the correct Litchi APK, however, the installation would have completed.

Any other thoughts? Or should we put this to rest?

I'm thinking it's an impossible mission. We're all ears if you can make it happen though.
