Limitation from upgrading firmware?

I purchased a P3A last winter for the purpose of mapping a rural property. I haven't touched my phantom since last spring but intend on doing more mapping when the leaves finish falling.

My question is will there be limitation(s) imposed on the craft if I upgrade firmware from the version used in march 2016 to the one used now?

I have an Advanced and Standard I updated the FW on the Standard and have been able to fly it for 3 month due to it not pairing .So the Advanced will stay on what works and I won't upgrade FW .
Just my thoughts anyway ,others seem to be luck and don't have any problems.
