P4 Firmware Latest Firmware

I have been flying my P4 Pro+V2 on some inspection projects for the past few weeks.

The latest version of firmware that is installed is 01.00.7017.

After completing a photo shoot this morning, when I came in to recharge the batteries, I started with the Controller. I use a Crystal Sky monitor for viewing. As the Controller started to recharge, a message in red appeared on the Crystal Sky screen that looked like 03.00.xx. There were also boxes labeled Wait and Download Now. I hit the Wait button before I could record the firmware version.

My question is, is there a firmware version newer than the 01.00.7017 that is installed on the Controller and the Aircraft now?
And if so, is it safe to download (considering the status of the P4 drones)?

not 100% sure about the p4 but the golden rule for the P3 range is never ever update the FW as it causes more issues than it solves, im sure someone may have the same or different advice for the p4

That has been my thought regarding updates of the FW as well. I just wanted some confirmation or contradiction.

For my entire life, regarding any and all updates of software, firmware, etc. of all hardware and devices, I have lived by the paradigm, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." Not once have I ever regretted that decision.

Remember, DJI is GREAT about pushing firmware updates that LIMIT your functionality. They're also great about not telling you this in their release notes. Do you know what they're horrible at? ROLLING BACK firmwares/softwares that don't work or even brick your drone.

Bottom line; Updating ANYTHING is inherently risky. Add to the s**t pile that rolling back requires HOURS of hacking, and it's just not worth it. Consequently, every single one of my drones runs on legacy firmware and software. Zero regrets.

Every time I fire up my drone I get a warning that I need to "Update Firmware." Every single time I press the little "X" and get on with my day. Zero regrets.

P.S. The only reason I allow Windows to update is because Microsoft is nice enough to have engineered in an exit strategy into their Operating System. I can pick and choose which updates to roll back / remove. I don't mind TRYING updates as long as I know I can roll them back without going through a whole series of mental changes.
