When I charge it up.. I then turn off the charger.. However. If I then turn the battery on and then charge.. It will carry on charging a bit more. Will this harm the overall battery life? I mean.... DJI made it turn off for a reason... But clearly.. There is a bit more charge to go. Any thoughts guys?

Batteries are disconnected from the source of supply when desired voltage is reached. This is for the safety of the battery to avoid over charging. It is definitely not advisable to keep on topping off to see if it can take more charge. After all it's electronics and might fail and could cause damages.

I won't play with the fire.

I usually charge all of my batteries the previous night and top them off on the flying day.

As above really. I wouldn't take the chance of causing any damage to the battery, its not like they are cheap.
