is there any step by step instructions on how to install this? i gave it a go but quickly got pissed off with it.it said i need 2 plug in controller so i did then it was saying theres no controller grrrrrrrr i hate computers!

Did you install the DJI driver for Windows or Window 8 before trying the firmware updates? That was necessary for it to work for me.

If not, reconnect its microUSB to your computer, launch RC Assistant and click the upgrade button again - don't worry that it doesn't see it yet or show your current firmware version. It should resume & complete the upgrade then ask you to cycle the power switch.

I had the same problem not being able to connect the controller
at the end the issue was that the controller was recognized as msh brain
(fbl controller I use on helis) removing that software did recognize the dji controller correctly and I was able to update firmware
the lesson is: look in windows device manager and see if the dji controller appears with the right name ;-)
