How close to the controller does the tablet need to be?

Noob here again....

For some reason the camera controls do not appear in the DJI app on my iPhone. They do show up on my iPad mini. However, my iPad mini does not fit into the holder on my remote. So, I have set my iPad on a nearby log while moving around to fly the bird. So far so good.

But, what I wonder is, how far away can the controller be from the tablet before they lose contact with one another or with the P3 standard?

Experiment and see. The max distance is likely much further than the two will likely ever be apart.

Thanks. I had been using the Phantom Pilots app. When I checked the forum on my browser there were many more categories. I will use the browser rather than the app for future posts.
