Seems my home lock works ok but when I get near within the 30' circle, it reverts back to normal control no matter where there setting is. Is this true?

I think that it won't work under 30 feet. Colin talks about it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WEN5BKEULls#t=38
I guess if I want to fly in that mode near to me then I need to power up and set home position further away.
