Had a Fly Away today

All I have to say about the above flyaways is bummer, hope you find them and there is a little silver lining that I remind myself everytime I crash. NOBODY DIED!

I feel your pain. I lost mine a few weeks ago. Total novice error. Too much wind. Tried the return to home, but the wind was strong, and even if it could have overcome the wind, there were obstacles in the way. Total loss unless someone comes across it in heavy woods next to lake (could be at the bottom).

Here's the take away. These are not cheap toys. It pays to learn EVERYTHING you can. Never think you can outsmart, or over maneuver a gusty wind situation. Establish a written checklist for flight that is comprehensive, and easy to follow. Then follow it. One item should be "Wind conditions" not only on the ground, but at tree top level. If in doubt, put your bird back in the box and fly another day.
