Quick history: Advanced 3 , RC GL300C , ipad mini , Samsung S5neo . About a year ago put away drone for the season , in a plastic container in my house ( normal humidity, temp) (everything working fine app 3.1.10 , aircraft 1.9.6 , remote 1.6 , ipad on ios 10.2.1, Samsung v 6) Bring it out of storage to fly and have the RC not charging , only 2 lights problem. Take it to electronic specialist, he reflows motherboard unsuccessfully. replaces a part on motherboard and I get a new battery. RC now acts normal, full charge to 4 lights and shuts off when charged. Starts and acts normal. I am connected with aircraft, green lights on both , connects right away, I can control gimbal, motors etc just no view in app( says disconnected) Updated ipad to ios 12, uninstalled go app, reinstalled latest app version on both ipad and Samsung ( both worked before putting in storage). On ipad in go app , I get picture of advanced aircraft with camera button in white with blue border, I push camera button and it goes blue and then shows the page to fly but says disconnected. I do the same with Samsung and I get Inspire showing in app and camera button in dark grey, push button and it goes to same page as ipad that says disconnected. I tried resetting RC, I tried different cables , tried resetting both devices , tried a different iphone and cable , I unplugged ribbon cables on usb module and reconnected them (reset) , Done DJI troubleshooting steps, I am at a loss. Read hours of threads, cant find a solution. Can anyone help?

I would first try one more Lightning cable to your iPad just to fully rule that out. Then, when that probably does not work, I would re-pair the copter and remote. If this gets you nowhere, revert the remote to a prior version of firmware, and then reinstall the most current firmware. You can do this through the latest version of DJI Assistant 2. After doing so, re-pair the copter and remote. If this gets you nowhere, the issue is probably a hardware issue with the remote. There are several very small ribbon cables involved in a mainboard removal/replacement, so it could be as simple as that, but you would need to dig deeper than the USB module. This involved opening it up.

I may have mis-spoke a bit. I just tried to access my GL300C RC with DJI Assistant on my PC, and it did not see it. I thought I had been able to do this before, but I could be wrong. You can still revert/reinstall RC firmware via DJI Go4 on the iPad though. If you are unsure how, post and we will guide you.

Sounds like you have a bad usb board on the RC.
Do you know of any way to test that? I just dont get components working one day and then not working after being stored without use. Thx

No I'm not aware of any way to test the USB board.

Make sure you have no apps running in the background, like DU RECORDER.

I tried another lightning cable, tried relink RC and aircraft, and tried various versions of RC reset, no luck.
A member sent me a thread saying the wifi module may have errors and a reflash might work . So I am ready to revert firmware back to 1.8. ( on 1.9) . As I cant connect to app , and I read that I cant update GL300C via usb , how do I update? Any help would be appreciated. Do I have to download DJI Go 4 as you mentioned above? I thought DJI go 4 was for different aircraft. Getting a bit of conflicting info, just want to do this right. Thanks in advance

Sorry for the conflicting info. I had thought that I was able to connect my remote to my PC in the past and then access it via DJI Assistant 2. I may have been able to do this with a prior version of this software, but I am not able to with the most currently available version... I apologize for this misinformation. I know how frustrating that is when you are trying to work through an issue.

I have the same controller as you - GL300C - although I fly a P4 (original). So yes, for your P3 Adv, you would fly with DJI GO, but you may want to try DJI GO 4 on your device in order to simply access your controller. If you are able to - with the copter off - then you should be able to revert/update the firmware.

The above video is dated, but the process is still the same. The icon may be different in the upper right corner, but pressing it for 5+ seconds should bring up the firmware options screen.

I have a feeling however, that you have an issue with your controller hardware, and that is why you have no video feed when it is actually connected - as per the green lights and ability to control the gimbal, motors etc.

Based on this, it may be time to have a look inside, and you may find this video helpful:

This is a video about upgrading the stock antenna system, but if you disregard that part, all else still applies. You will also be able to inspect the mainboard and its ribbon cables, and although some are small, they insert the same way by raising the little locking tabs.

I had same issue after updating my P3A couple months ago. I could control AC but no video feed. I replaced the USB board and that didn't help. I bought a new controller from ebay and that fixed my problem. Has worked OK since. It was going to cost about the same or little more to send it off to get repaired. Must have been bad main board. Drone Nerds in Florida said there had been problems with that update and the controller after.

Yeah. I had the charging issue with my original RC, and I did the reflow which worked for awhile, but eventually, the problem returned. Reflowed a second time with same result, and when the issue returned, I bought a new RC on eBay.

Thanks for taking time to post videos Brockrock. I uninstalled Dji Go and put on newer version and nothing, then i did the same and put on Dji Go 4. ( Also tried go 4 on my Samsung phone) Still cant get connected to either app to update . Now i get how to connect with inspire on app page. At least before It recognized the P3 Adv and had camera button. Doesnt matter I guess either way I'm still not connected to app. The conflicting info I'm reading is that I can't update the GL300C controller other than thru the app, but i see a video of a guy updating thru usb stick ( with bin file on it). I just dont want to brick it. At least now I can try a solution, if it's bricked then i'm done. So I'm going to try and load a previous version of DJI go on my ipad. Remember i was working fine with ios 10 , go app 3.1.1 , aircraft 1.9.6 , RC 1.6. It was only after ipad automatically updated go app that i started to have problems. RC and aircraft versions remain the same right now and they communicate as they should with each other , only thing that changed was go app version and then me updating ios version to try and get newer go app to work. Thanks as well Mustangman

Looking at the stated chronology of events in your first post, am I correct regarding you having had significant work done on this RC after you recently took it out of storage due to the common charging issue occurring? That is how it seems to read, and that is why I'm leaning toward a hardware issue not related to firmware and/or software. I know that's the worst case scenario, but to move forward, you may want to consider this as a fairly good possibility. If you know someone with the same RC - or have access to one via the electronics shop - I would next attempt a link to that, and the result would be very telling. I also feel your pain and frustration my friend. As mentioned in post 13 above, I too had an RC issue that resulted in purchasing a replacement, but for the joy I get out of this hobby, it paid for itself on the copter's first take-off..👍..

Yes, that is the only solution I found for my problems to. I tried everything I could to get it to work. But I enjoy flying that much it was worth it in the long run. Good luck to you. Hope you can figure cheaper way out.

I had this "DISCONNECTED" problem during and before flight when I changed the position (angle) of the tablet-holder on the RC (GL300B). After trying many different cables and devices, with no luck I solved the problem by reflowing (soldering) the contacts of the USB-connector on the circuitboard.

I had the same issue this spring with my phantom 4. Tired uninstalls and re-installs. numerous cables. As someone above mentioned it could be a bad USB board on the controller. I ordered one off of ebay. I followed the instructions on YouTube and it solved the problem

Thanks for the help all. What Brockrock says about trying a different RC makes sense. I"ll see if anyone here ( Victoria BC, Canada , has one to try ) The electronic guy who reflowed it and installed part has been pretty good , I think I could get him to at least test the usb port/board , since I am running out of solutions.
