I have recently received the P3S and tried an offbrand prop which I think sent the Quad Copter sideways and into my body. Few band aids patched me up but I have notice that my camera seems very limited in its left/right movement. We are awaiting Irma so winds are high so I can't test while in flight but the 1/2 -1 inch movement with left stick is all I can get. I have done the recalibration and all seems well. Gotta batten the hatches now

That sounds normal to me. The left/right movement of the gimbal is very slight, and is to help eliminate jerky video when yawing.

Since you have a lot of reading time. I know. I lived in the Orlando, lake and Volusia county areas for over 20 years. I have been through more then a few hurricanes.
Read the manual well. The camera isn't supposed to do a lot of left right movement. I may not be understanding your statement well. The left stick should make a nice circle. Walmart has DJI props for under $6. That problem could be motors, main board or maybe a left, right stick stuck. It depends on how it was configured on your remote. I'm comfortable staring it up with props on my dining room table while holding it. Not recommended. You could test it without the props on. That's safe. Try the demo. Learn it a little better.
