Gimbal will not initialize

I had an accident with my P2 with the H3-D3 gimbal attached. It as severe enough that the mounting bracket broke. Now when I turn the P2 on and it goes through the initialization steps, when it gets to the gimbal the pitch axis motor make a loud buzzing noise and will not move the camera back plate. The rest of the motors seem to check out ok.

I see several gimbals on sale for parts. How would I go about replacing the pitch motor? And would a motor from a H2-D2 work just as well?
