Gimbal going crazy, defies being recalibrated, nonresponsive to RC up/down commands

Any suggestions how to resolve? No crash or rough anything prior to this & when I try to recalibrate the gimbal it seems to go into a never-ending loop doesn't complete a cycle after 20-25 minutes of looking at the screen when implores me to not touch aircraft. Camera/gimbal seems to make a rasping noise with camera going through gyrations.

Any suggestions on resolution; other than a shakey camera which doesn't response to RC commands (up/down), P3S flies fine?
