oh, its not my work..lol. I only wish I had the programming skills to take on a venture like this. Im only helping with the beta testing for the app. hopefully an official version will be released soon.

Am I ok to beta test this with the antenna upgrades to my range extender as well? Will the antenna upgrade have any effect on heat issues?

Have you noticed any effect on the flight duration with this or faster drainage of the wifi extender battery ?

yeah I have fpvlr's helix antenna for the wifi extender on my original vision. I don't have that one you posted for control but im sure it gets the job done. have you flown with it yet?

actually, the app boosts the aircraft video transmit power not the extender. but no, I haven't noticed drain on either end.

sidenote: phatompilots need to get rid of this 3 quotes limit..its annoying.

actually, the app boosts the aircraft video transmit power not the extender. but no, I haven't noticed drain on either end.

sidenote: phatompilots need to get rid of this 3 quotes limit..its annoying.

I believe the manual and in the forums they refer to the separate device attached to the RC transmitter as the 'WIFI Range Extender'. The 'WIFI Range Extender' is what communicates the FPV between the Phantom and the smartphone or video device. I believe he was asking if the 'extender' or WIFI range extender's battery has much additional drain... I would expect the battery would be taxed a little more since the wifi gain is increased...

There's plenty of antennas to buy if u want to start modding it.

True... that would probably serve more people's interest since most don't have modded antennas... I'll be sure to do some tests before I mod the antennas...

This 5.8G 14dBi patch panel should get 4 KM (13,000 ft) control link WITHOUT requiring to mod the aircraft.

You may refer to my picture of it's orientation installed on the transmitter, which is vertical polarized matching with the 5.8G antennas on the aircraft. If you rotate the panel 90-degree, it becomes horizontal polarized and your control range would be a lot shorter due to mismatching polarization.
