Aircraft Configuration:
FC40 camera & stock holder
3 1/2 prop guards :roll:
Battery door & hinge pin removed
Flight Conditions:
Elevation: 4,530 msl
Temperature: 56 f
Station Pressure: 25.106
Dew Point: 27 f
Density Altitude: 5,230 feet/1,594 meters
Wind: NNW @ 10 to 15 mph
Battery = Turnigy Multistar 4.0 4000mAh 3S 11.1volt 10C discharge (about 6 flights since new)
Flight time: 10:50 Ending Voltage (after 4 hours): 11.45 Flight activity level: Moderate/High
Flight time: 10:10 Ending Voltage (after 4 hours): 11.44 Flight activity level: Moderate/High
Flight time: 10:05 Ending Voltage (after 4 hours): 11.56 Flight activity level: High
So, with prop guards, and the FC40 camera I was getting 10:05 to 10:50 at a density altitude of 5,230 feet.
High altitude = thin air = more work for the motors compared to flights at sea level.
Some modification of the battery compartment is required.
