Flight Restricted

Ok I haven't flown since June 17th. I have not done any of the current updates due to the bad reviews of many on here. I just went to check things in preparation to fly and I am getting the flight restriction warnings on start up. I have logged off and back on to my account and still get the warnings.

Does this mean I am forced to do the firmware updates before I get the restrictions lifted?

You may have to delete and reinstall the app and try logging in again. Then expect FW update prompts. Some people have been experiencing the same restrictions in between batteries as well, and apparently you need to shut the app down when swapping them out.

Ok I will try delete and reload the app. I tried everything else. The good news I can still fly using Litchi.

Fortunately all my SW and FW updates have stuck, but I have read of many instances where it hasn't and it's not pretty. I too only use Litchi these days due to the NFZ updates with the previous app updates and have no restrictions as yet. No doubt that will change....

I just noticed that the firmware update is for the RC not the AC. Do you think it would be safe to do the RC or will it then have to paired with an updated AC? Or do you think that my Flight Restriction warning has anything to do with the updates?

Not sure what version you are running for either the RC or AC. My previous versions were 1.8.0 (HDMI fitted but 1.6.0 prior to that) for the RC and 1.02.06 for the AC. They are now at 1.9.2 for the RC and 2.02.06 for the AC (the numbers may not be exactly right, I'm no where near my set up to check).
The last FW upgrade did both the AC and RC and the flight restrictions came along with the app updates.
Haven't heard of just the RC update, I'd check what you currently have and try the reinstall of the app first.

Just to be clear the Flight Restrictions I am referring to is the limited height and distance, something like 20 and 50 meters.

Have any joy with the app? I'm running iOS 4.1.7 but did update to the latest FW as mentioned.
If you have to update the FW, it's not hard despite some of the horror stories.

Yeah I yeah I figured that, was hoping that either logging out and back in would clear it or as some others have done, delete and reinstall the app and then log back in.

I realize it is not hard to update but there are so many horror stories of problems encountered afterwards such no longer being able to connect to the AC or very unstable flight characteristics and loss of a good video signal.

Well since I can fly using Litchi I think I will leave well enough alone for now. Maybe DJI will come out with a fix for everyone's problem. I have heard that the update may have caused hardware damage to the bird's motherboard.

You may be right, stand back for a while and wait for the next 'fix', from what I have read, if you don't follow the slightly ambiguous update process, there will be tears. Not sure about HW problems being inflicted on users, otherwise everyone using the same SW and FW upgrades would be in the same boat and heading to China with baseball bats.
Surprised the flight restrictions don't affect Litchi as some of the settings in it are mirrored from the go app.

I posted this problem on the DJI forum and someone said it is just a glitch, X it out and fly normally. I will give it a shot tomorrow. Again thanks for taking the time to respond.

I'd try Litchi before I updated ANYTHING from DJI.

Update...flew today and X'ed out the warning and flew normally, no restrictions so I guess it is a glitch. Flew both DJI Go4 and Litchi with no problems. I am glad I didn't update, bird is flying solid!

Good outcome, your issue is the only one that hasn't popped up on my display, pretty much everything else has...
I updated the go app last night so I guess we'll see what happens when the rain stops and I can go out for a thrash.
