First Flight - First Flip

First flight of new Phantom 3 Pro. Flight went well also a few landings. The final landing went great to until for some reason the motors spun up and the drone flipped over. Only damaged two props but wondering what would cause it to suddenly flip while just sitting there idling.

Best practice is to power off ASAP after landing. Make sure you're using left stick full back for 3 seconds to do that rather than a CSC as the CSC is more likely to cause an unintentional flip over.

Most experienced pilots here recommend learning properly to hand catch and stop the motors while holding the Phantom by the leg stationary in the air. To do that safely, make sure you approach the Phantom rather than flying it to you. Have it hover slightly higher than your head (to keep the blades above you), and gently grasp one of the legs holding the Phantom still while pulling back on the left stick with the other hand for 3 seconds until the motors stop.

Thanks for the info. It was my fault for trying to shut down by pulling both stick into the center and down.

If you leave the Phantom running and do not input any control for a period of time, it will execute RTH or Failsafe, or it will think it's hovering and if the GPS signal varies it will try to compensate, which usually result in a tip over. I might have some of that info a bit off.

This info is correct... Idling the Phantom will cause undesirable results.
