Firmware upgrade

I was flying this AM and I have not updated the firmware yet because of all the problems it sseems to be having- during my whole flight where it says "signal or no signal" it flashed that I need a firmware up date- whats up with that- I had control of the p3 the whole time but was worried that if I lost signal i would not know. Thoughts?

After my upgrade it is rock solid in GPS mode. A million plus sold and 10 people on here say its bad idea I will take my chances with the upgrade.
