Maybe try using a heat gun over it instead of in the oven so you have more control in bending it.

Yes. Heat Gun would probably work much better. But I just decided to use the DBS mod instead. I just thought some users would like to experiment with this while getting their feet wet. It's cheep and just about everyone has a cd and some foam laying around.

wonder how that would work if you put it in a conave dish or bowl and put it in the oven and turned the oven on just high enough to melt the cd to the bowls shape?

That's pretty good, did you copy the curve from the Windsurfer?
I can't tell what you did for your background material. The part that fits the antenna you wouldn't want that to be metallic. Use a clear disk that is usually packed with a tall cd pack. I get it now, that is what the back is, the package!
