So I was out getting some fly time with my P3 4K and stumbled upon 2 racing drones stuck in the tree. The guys that were flying RC planes said that they've been up there for over a year. What do you think is the best way to bring those drones down? The first thing that came to mind was a chainsaw but it's on city property.

Have you got a good use for puffed LiPO's and corroded electronics?

Looking at the tree you would need a cherry picker or a good (and brave) climber. They seem to be wedged in nicely.

I would just use the frames. Not worth getting mine stuck up there though.

Home depot has them for rent. My neighbor rented one in the fall for some tree work, I think it cost him something like $200 a day. Maybe smaller than the one pictured but he was working on 130 foot trees.

I work for an electric utility. We have extendo sticks that could reach that. Call and ask your local electric utility. They might can help.

After a year?? What would be salvageable?
Let it be it's grave and a reminder to those who think they can FPV.

There's an Ar15 grappling hook available.
