My order is in. it's a shame that this functionality requires a hardware mod, but worth it if it works.
DJI seems to have no interest (or inability) to solve issue with software mod. Let's hope this solution works without drawbacks.

Yeah, DE can be a bit pricey.
But when they wanted like $600 (my memory) for a 2 axis gimbal in a silver box for the P2V, within only a few weeks DJI came up with the 3 axis Plus for $100 more than the P2V and people started canceling orders for the DE 2 axis.
So ... maybe if we can wait, DJI will provide their own solution.
I'm hoping anyways ........ :|
