I have a DSLR phantom 2 Cannes kit minus transmitter

I have the DSLR Phantom 2 Cannes kit but no transmitter
I purchased and tried to use the original Phantom to controller transmitter, but it wouldn’t work. It’s supposed to have a Futaba transmitter with it a Futaba 8fgs which are available, but they’re kind of pricey. Does anyone know if another radio might work with the receiver that’s in that particular set up

Given how far drone technology had advanced since the days of the Phantom 2, is it really worth putting any effort into reviving it?
