I have a phantom 3 standard drone. When trying to get it to take off with either the remote control or app the drone does not respond but very randomly. Looking for help with this. I have replaced the remote so I feel it's within the drone.

Welcome to the forum!

I and many others know a lot about the P3S.

Stick with this thread you will get some help!

Questions for me and others.
When was last time you seen it work?

Light status on the bird, remote, beep noises etc.

There is A LOT of info on @msinger web site.

It's your turn. :)

Does not respond is vary vague, what actually happens?
Does the app show any issues such as calibration needed, enough satellites set etc etc

My PS3 sorta does the same thing. It will take off and hover if I use the app but won't respond to any stick inputs once it's hovering. I'm pretty sure it's not the transmitter because I can tilt the camera up and down. I've been trying different suggestions for a couple of months now and still can't get it so respond to the sticks.

It sounds like there might be an issue with the drone's internal components, possibly related to the flight controller, motors, or sensors. First, try resetting the drone by turning it off and on, and ensure the firmware is up to date. Double-check the battery connections and make sure the GPS signal is strong. If the issue persists, it could be a hardware fault inside the drone, in which case contacting DJI support or taking it to a professional for inspection might be necessary.

My P3S will take off and hover at about 5 feet if I tap the take-off button on the app but will not respond to any stick inputs. It will also land and shut off the motors if I tap the land button. Is that what yours is doing?

Have you tried the following to troubleshoot the RC? ...

From the GoApp.....select the three dots....top right corner.
General Settings Screen
Left column, select the pic of the RC.

From there you have a few choices:

Relink RC Is it linked to the drone?
RC Calibration. Recalibrate stick movements on the app.
Stick Modes.......Mode 1, 2, 3, or custom settings.

Maybe try the above and see if the drone responds correctly. Good luck.

Yes, I've tried all that and more. Thanks though.

You're welcome. Troubleshooting can be a real pain sometimes.

I think if it were me, I'd try a different RC and see if I get the same result. Maybe borrow one from a local pilot, or check out new or used RC's in the forum's classified sections......or other outlets.

yeah, okay. That's one I haven't tried yet.
Yep. Even though your RC's camera tilt wheel operates the camera, that is one component of many inside that RC.

Many times drones are crashed or lost, and the drone pilot is standing there holding a perfectly good RC that they have no practical use for anymore. Might find some good deals out there........👍

Ordered one from eBay. S/B here Friday. We'll see if that makes a difference.
