There is only one version of the remote controller. It will automatically switch between FCC/CE depending on where you're flying.Heard rc has 2 versions
This is the Pro/Adv forum, so you may see conflicting answers to your question about a P3S.Heard rc has 2 versions. Japan market and world market. Is there any different between these two? Any advantages? Thank you

With regards to the P3S, the GL390wA model is for the Japanese market only and uses 900mhz for the control link. The GL358wA is for outside Japan and is 5.8ghz for the control link. The P3S main boards for Japan have a 900mhz receiver while for outside Japan the main boards have a 5.8ghz receiver.
Someone more expert would need to chime in about output wattage between the two and benefits or disadvantages of the frequencies, but as @WV. Rootman noted, I'd suggest you use the non Japanese version unless you are based in Japan. Not to mention you'd need to change hardware on your AC to use the Japanese version RC.
I suppose you could use a frequency counter or look at the model number of the RC. If you have a GL358wA, you'd know it's frequency from what I noted above or through Google. If you have the Japanese market model GL390wA, same answer. Is there a way to check the frequency?

I'm sure the Japanese market RC would function well enough in Sri Lanka as you have seen, but I couldn't tell you if it were legal to use in Sri Lanka. My controller is GL390wA. I live in Sri Lanka and bought this from Dji Japan. I use this in Sri lanka. Is it ok? I have more than 100 flights. 'No rc signal 'issue occured twice in urban area. Heard this no signal thing is pretty normal in City area. But away from my home, which is located in urban area, completely ok.
