Hi everyone, I have a question regarding the operating temperatures of the DJI phantom 3 intelligent flight battery.
Recently I went to fly my phantom early on a frosty morning so I could get a shot of the sun melting the frost on the rooves of the houses around me to steam. The temperature was about 3 degrees according to the temperature gauge. The phantom started up fine, but when I went to start the motors, they wouldn't start because apparently the temperature was too cold. Is there any way to adjust the operating temperature of the flight batteries via software, or is it basically impossible to change?
Thanks:)

If you are operating in cold weather it is important to keep the batteries warm (in a pocket for example) and don’t insert them into the drone until you are ready to start the motors.

Also, if the motors aren’t starting then you will need to calibrate the IMU in the cold temperatures you want to fly in. This will allow the motors to start right away rather than you having to wait for the IMU to warm up. You only need to do this once.

Hope this helps.

Far as I can remember, charge and have batteries at least 5 c ie warm, and you should be ok,as once running will keep temperature up.

Ok cool thanks @fw190 and @Chrislaf, I will try to calibrate the IMU and warming up the batteries next time I have difficulty starting the motors. Thanks😀
