DJI Phantom 2 Vision FC200 EGG camera - Black video FPV solution to fix

Hi guys. I want to thank everyone who contributed to this thread. I've had a non-functioning camera for over a year. Following the process you developed, I now have a working camera again.

I appreciate all the work you did with documenting a fix. Hoping other folks find this helpful as well.
Hello I'm having trouble with my egg cameras

Hey Guys, well I think its time to revive this thread, I completely forgot about this with all that went on.

I found the board that i was using to test and fully intend to see if it can be reparied.

Wish me luck

"
Waiting for the DM36x...
Target: BOOTME
BOOTME commmand received. Returning ACK and header...
ACK command sent. Waiting for BEGIN command..."

For now I have Linux boot, I can ping Eth0 at 192.168.10, but dont have any opened port.
I need to find solution how video is transmited to WiFi module, is it like a network stream or USB connection, and check how to recive video signal from Ambarella....
If you want to look on eBay and find a Phantom 2 Vision that is for sale for parts only that has a working board you can use to to fix our Vision camera view I'm will to pay for it and sent to you to work on. Send me an email at [email protected]. or pm me here or just reply to this message.
Hope you read this and reply

Hi everyone,

I’m currently working on repairing two Phantom 2 Vision+ Wi-Fi modules and I’ve made some progress, but I’m stuck at the Ambarella DM365 side.

So far, I have:

  • Desoldered and dumped the SPI flash (Winbond W25Q64FV).
  • Flashed a clean OpenWRT image on the AR9331 (Atheros Wi-Fi side) → works fine, LEDs behave normally.
  • Connected via UART (FT232RL @ 115200 baud) to the Ambarella DM365.
  • Interrupted U-Boot successfully and got access to the console.
  • The kernel (Linux 2.6.32.17-davinci1) loads without problems.
👉 The issue:
Boot stops when it tries to mount the rootfs. The kernel itself is OK, but the UBIFS rootfs partition is corrupted or missing.

From my logs:
UBI: attaching mtd2 to ubi0
UBI: available PEBs: 0
UBIFS: recovery failed
ERROR: cannot mount ubifs

I found some references and scripts (using ubireader_extract_files and create_ubi_img-*.sh) to rebuild UBIFS, but in order to do that I need the original dm365_root_ubifs.ubi (rootfs image) from a working Phantom 2 Vision+ Wi-Fi module.

My request 🙏

Does anyone here have:

  • A dump of the NAND (rootfs.ubi) from a working P2V+ Wi-Fi module,
  • Or even a full NAND dump from the Ambarella DM365 side,
  • Or a link to where DJI originally published these binaries?

I am not trying to hack or modify anything, just to restore functionality to these old but still valuable drones.

Any help (files, pointers, backups) would be hugely appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Pretty sure this is all documented and all the required files are buried in this extremely long thread, im not sure if you have seen my flashing tool or repair videos that i have done if not here is the link to the tool that many people have used to flash the wifi module on the P2v+

Failing that i have a couple of spare wifi units that work fine if you want something off it let me know how to go about it, im pretty handy with these units, im away for 2 weeks in the Dominican from 1st september so will only be answering emails [email protected]

Thank you very much, my drone lost the ability to broadcast the SSID and I can no longer connect. I have two modules and both have the same problem, I don’t know if it’s a failure of the Ambarella PCB or the WiFi SPI, although I believe it’s the former. But I needed a complete dump to test. Thank you very much, and I’ll let you know how it turned out!
